Endowment Fund Guidelines
for Grant Applications

Revised November 2011

  • The DFO Endowment Fund will have $4000 to disperse in the calendar year 2012 in grants.
  •

  • Grant applications may be submitted starting January 1st and will be acted upon by the committee on a first come first served basis until the year’s funds have been exhausted.
  •

  • The completed grant application must be submitted to the Endowment Fund chairperson (see application). The committee reserves the right to request further information about the project from the applicant.
  •

  • Grant requests of $1000 or less will be acted upon by the Endowment Committee; grant requests of more than $1000 will be acted upon by the DFO Board of Directors at its next regularly scheduled meeting.
  •

  • The committee will communicate the awarding of a grant or rejection of the application in a timely manner.
  •

  • With grant awards of $1000 or less a check will be sent to the grantee. With grant awards of more than $1000 the grantee will submit invoices to the DFO Treasurer for reimbursement up to the amount of the grant.
  •

  • If all the Fund’s monies have been allocated for the year the applicant will be notified and may resubmit the application the following year.
  •

  • The committee and the grant recipient together will determine the appropriate method for reporting project results to the DFO membership. Three possible options are a presentation to the membership at a DFO meeting, a field trip to the project site, or an article in the DFO monthly newsletter, the Lark Bunting.
